FSAB in the Community
FSAB is a company of young business professionals who believe strongly in philanthropy. As a team, we were very proud to be awarded the 2005 Young Philanthropist of the Year by the Greater Louisville Chapter of Fundraising Professionals and Fund Raising Executives of Metro Louisville. This award is presented to individuals under the age of 35 who have demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable responsibility.
One of the biggest events that FSAB hosts every year is a charity golf scramble that benefits a local organization. The first year, in 2004, we were very proud to raise $2,025 for the Louisville Deaf Oral School, which has for over fifty years educated deaf and hard of hearing children, ages birth to six.
In 2005 and 2006 our beneficiary was The Cabbage Patch Settlement and between both years we were able to donate to them over $7,000. They are a non-profit, Christian organization that exists to empower families and children to be self-sufficient. The Cabbage Patch Settlement is also the oldest in Kentucky since it’s inception in 1910. FSAB helps each summer with the organizing and setup of Streetball Louisville, which is the Cabbage Patch’s largest fundraiser. For the last two Decembers, we have provided a home-cooked meal for the Cabbage Patch families and children, which we prepared ourselves, during the holiday season.
FSAB is also doing its part to keep part of Louisville clean. Through Operation Brightside, we are a sponsor of a Green Mile, which means the FSAB team has agreed to stage four litter clean-ups each year along Gardiner Lane from Bardstown Road to Newburg Road.
As a contributor to the Louisville Fund for the Arts, we are part of the 2006 New Employee Campaign. With this designation just about everyone in FSAB has requested that a certain amount be deducted from his or her paycheck during each pay period. This money goes to help an organization that is truly driven to make Louisville the epicenter for all arts. They help fund everything from the Actors Theater of Louisville to the Louisville Ballet and Louisville Orchestra to name just a few.
Many of our team volunteers on their personal time as well. We have coached football, basketball, wrestling, and track and have refereed for most of these sports as well on a voluntary basis. We run a mentor program through several of the regions colleges and universities which allows students interested in pursuing careers in our field to get hands on experience before graduating.
Please check out these valuable organizations and consider volunteering your time and/or money to further their cause. If you have any organizations or ideas you would like to recommend to the FSAB team please go to the contact page and submit your information. Thank you for visiting us!
